Dawn M. Bravata, MD, is a practicing general internist at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, a core investigator of the VA HSRD Center for Health Information and Communication in Indianapolis, a Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Neurology at the Indiana University School of Medicine, and a research scientist at the Regenstrief Institute. The fundamental goal of Dr. Bravata’s research is to improve the care and outcomes for patients with complex medical needs. She has conducted multi-site randomized clinical trials, large observational cohorts, and implementation trials. Her work has examined the quality of care received by patients with vascular disease, the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for patients with ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack, and the implementation of programs to improve care for patients with complex medical needs.
